Congratulations to Annie Nabors for winning 1st place in the speech contest and Laura Sylvia for winning 1st place in the photography competition at the Southern Assoc. of Student Councils annual convention in Lawrenceville, GA. 
 
 
 Students taking Dual Credit courses 2nd Semester must pay by December 1st. If forms and fees are not received by the deadline, students will be removed from the classes.

  • Balfour will return during lunches on Thursday, October 30 to take orders from seniors for graduation invitations ($80 deposit required), as well as, orders from anyone who would like to order a class ring or letterman jacket. (Jackets must be paid in full when ordering.)

  • Megan Upchurch, Admissions Counselor for the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, will be in the Career Center during Channel One and in the courtyard during lunches on Thursday, October 30. Interested students should stop by for more information.

  • The Prudential Spirit of Community Award is now available to students in grades 9-12. The award recognizes those students who have volunteered their services in their communities over the past year. Interested students should see Mrs. Tucker in the Career Center for more information. Applications must be submitted to the guidance office by Tuesday, November 4.

  • Seniors: If you would like to attend the College Career Fair at the MS Coast Coliseum on Monday, November 3, you may register through Wednesday, October 29. LBHS will provide transportation to this event. See Mrs. Tucker in the Career Center for information.

  • Any sophomores or juniors interested in Governor's School this summer may now begin the application process. See Mrs. Tucker in the Career Center for criteria. Application deadline is February 4.

  • SENIORS: ESF's GET-2-College Center announces their 2014-15 scholarship competition for seniors. They will award fifty $1,000 scholarships. Applicants must write and essay and complete an application. See Mrs. Tucker for more information. The deadline is Dec. 15.

  • Juniors: ESF's GET -2-College Center announces their 2014-15 scholarship competition for high school juniors. You can promote our high school, and the top 3 winners will receive a $500 scholarship. See Mrs. Tucker in the Career Center for more information. Deadline is Dec. 15.

  • A workshop for seniors and parents will be held on October 28th in the gym from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Topics will include: choosing a college, the college admissions process, ACT importance, scholarship search, and financial aid basics.
