The mission of CATS is to provide a safe, structured environment that is conducive to assisting students to gain academic and social skills as well as develop self-discipline in order to re-enter the regular school program and pursue a high school diploma. Students in grades K-5 receive services in Cub Academy. Students in grade 6-12 receive services in Bearcat Academy.\ The purpose of the Center for Academic Training Services (CATS) is to provide an alternative setting in which students may achieve academic success when he/she becomes unable to perform in a traditional school setting. It is the goal of Long Beach to provide a structured environment through which a student can maximize his/her academic potential and accelerat learning so that the student may succeed.
