Kevin Hunt enters his second season as Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Long Beach High School. He brings over 20 years of coaching experience from Louisiana and Arkansas. Coach Hunt has been recognized as a district Coach of the Year three times in Arkansas and has two State runner-up trophies. He played college basketball at Arkansas State University and Henderson State University, where he helped his team win back-to-back Gulf South regular season and tournament championships.

Hunt’s coaching career began at Holly Grove High School, where he led his team to a conference and regional championship. After Holly Grove closed, he moved to Altheimer High School in Arkansas, achieving a 25-2 record and a State runner-up finish. He was named 6AA Coach of the Year and nominated to coach in the all-star game.

In Louisiana, Hunt helped start Miller McCoy Academy in New Orleans and later led West Jefferson High to the sweet 16 in class 5A in 2019. Throughout his career, he has only missed the playoffs three times. Coach Hunt is married to Nicole Hunt and has one son, Kevin Hunt Jr., and four stepchildren: Chelsi, Ashtin, Austin, and Aron.
