The Mississippi Department of Education will host a regional literacy meeting at Harper McCaughan, Sept. 17th, 6pm - 7pm.

The meeting will provide an overview of state literacy and assessment requirements under the Literacy-Based Promotion Act (LBPA), which emphasizes prevention and intervention to help students develop the reading skills needed for success in fourth grade.

Families will learn practical strategies to support their children’s reading development at home, recognizing the critical role families play in student literacy success.
