 Students taking Dual Credit courses in 2nd Quarter must pay by Friday, August 29th. Students taking courses 2nd Semester must pay by December 1st. If forms and fees are not received by the deadlines, students will be removed from the classes.
 
Students who drive to school must register to park at the stadium. Students are not allowed to park at any other location on campus, and they may not park at the church or shopping center across the street.

  • There are several extracurricular activities available to students. Several clubs have begun meeting. Listen carefully to morning and afternoon announcements for opportunities to become involved.

  • The 2014 LBHS Sweetheart Pageant will be held September 20th. Contestant fee is $25. Paperwork is available at the office and is due by September 12th.

  • A workshop for seniors and parents will be held on October 28th in the gym from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Topics will include: choosing a college, the college admissions process, ACT importance, scholarship search, and financial aid basics.

  • ESF is offering free ACT workshops at their Get-2-College Center in Ocean Springs. Register at www.get2college.org. Please see Mrs. Tucker in the Career Center for a list of dates and times.

  • It's not too late to participate in National History Day! Meetings are held on Thursdays after school in E-14. See Mr. Stone or check out his web page for more information on this exciting academic competition. We hope to see your project represent Long Beach at the state contest in March.

  • Attn. Seniors: Wendy's is pleased to announce their 2014 Wendy's High School Heisman Award. Both male and female students who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership and have at least a B average are eligible. Applications must be submitted online by October 3rd. See Mrs. Tucker in the Career Center for more information.

  • Admissions Counselor Bethany Seal with the University of Southern Mississippi will be in the Career Center during Channel One on Thursday, Sept. 4. Anyone interested in attending USM should stop by for more information.

  • Any girl interested in running for homecoming maid may pick up an application at the office. Applications are due to Mrs. Scruggs in room I-39 no later than August 29.

  • The Balfour representative will be here on Friday, September 5th from 7:30-8:00 a.m. to take class ring orders. Juniors or Seniors who wish to order a ring must bring a $50 deposit (cash, check, money order, or credit cards accepted). Extra ring packets are available in the office. T-shirts will be available on sell date.
