"A child's life is like a piece of paper on which everyone
who passes by leaves an impression."
Welcome to Long Beach Middle School and thank you for visiting our website. We have a wonderful school, full of activity and learning both in and out of the classroom.
Below is some general information that may be of interest to you.
~~We do not have lockers. Any type of book bag is permitted. Each student is issued a textbook to keep at home so that they do not have to carry them each day. Please keep in the mind the weight of binders and notebooks when purchasing supplies and back packs. We encourage parents to purchase the pull type back packs to help alleviate the stress to the student's back.
~~Breakfast is served every morning from 7:30 a.m. until the first bell rings. The cost is $1.25. Lunch is $2.25 for the day or $11.25 for the week. (Handbook pages 41 & 42)
~~School Hours: 7:55 First Bell Rings
8:00 First Class Begins
3:21 Dismissal
~~Parents please make sure that the school clothes you buy adhere to our dress code. The biggest problem that we have with young men is sagging, baggy pants. For the young ladies, the problem concerns the short tight tops, shorts that are too short, and the low-rider pants. Let me remind you that the midriff can not show when the arms are raised. Pants can not sag below the waist where the undergarments are showing. Also, new this year, no jeans can have any holes or frays above or below the knee. You can help us tremendously by monitoring what your child wears. This will allow them to spend more time in the classroom instead of taking care of dress code issues in the office. Thank you for your help with this. (Handbook pages 37 & 38)
~~Make sure and check the handbook for the absentee policy. (Pages 14-19)
~~Let me remind you that we have an open door policy and always look forward to the opportunity of speaking with parents about the most important thing - your child. Thank you for giving us the privilege of working with you and your child and being a part of molding his/her future.
